This policy explains what personal data Kingfisher Apps collects when you use our website, the Kingfisher SmartHome Windows application, and the companion app or web dashboard, and how we use it.

Account Information We Collect
When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password. We also store your subscription plan and whether you joined during our founding offer. When the Windows app signs in, we remember the last check-in and, for each day it does, that it was used that day. We collect this information to fulfil our contract with you and to operate the service.
Emails
We send account emails such as verification and password-reset messages through an email service provider from Germany.
Remote Control
When you use remote control, commands and device-status messages are relayed in real time between the Windows app and the companion app or web dashboard. We do not keep a history of those messages.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in, security, language, and display theme. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
How Long We Keep Your Data
Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 1 day. Website sessions expire after one hour of inactivity; companion-app sessions after 90 days of inactivity; license tokens after 90 days of issuance or 30 days of inactivity, whichever comes first; email verification links after 2 days; password-reset links after 1 hour.
Where Your Data Is Stored
Our servers are located in Frankfurt, Germany, within the European Union.
App Diagnostics and Usage Data
The Windows app does not send crash reports or error logs to our servers.
If you enable Share usage data in the app's Settings (off by default), the app may send a usage report at most once per day while it is running. Reports include app version and settings, rough feature and device counts, and an install identifier so we do not count the same app twice. They do not include your email, credentials, rule contents, device names, or file contents. We use this to improve the product. You can stop by turning the setting off.
Your Rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you; to restrict or object to processing; to withdraw consent for optional usage reports; and to receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@kingfisherapps.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.
Children
Our service is not intended for users under the age of 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from someone under 16, please contact us so we can delete it.
